I want to thank our members for their constant support for this publication with valuable advices.
To make this association, I was inspired by one of the great professors of Cardiac surgery of the present century. In this occasion we won't forget Professor Emeritus Nabi Alam Khan, his
esteemed inspiration for the organization, I wish to recall some aspects of his life and times.
His period in NICVD was marked by several qualities of academic leadership; sincerity, fairness and integrity that quickly earned respect;
finding and attracting young talents; recognising the need for decent facilities and accommodation for teaching, research emphasing on the needs of the community.
