Bangladesh Association of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgeons (hereinafter called the ‘Association’ or ‘BACTS’) is a non-profitable national professional organization established with the following objectives:
To enhance cooperation among the cardiovascular, thoracic and vascular
surgeons of Bangladesh.
To encourage effective health manpower development and to facilitate
technology transfer in the field of cardiovascular, thoracic and vascular surgery.
To study problems concerning the education, training, research,
rehabilitation and continuing professional development programs and to recommend
solutions.
To cooperate and advise Government of Bangladesh in policy formulation and
implementation in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic health care.
To advise national bodies such as Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council
(BMDC), Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Bangladesh Medical Research Council
(BMRC), Bangladesh Cardiac Society and other relevant organizations on the priority
activities in the field of health.
To negotiate and bargain with the Government of Bangladesh and other
national bodies for the welfare and interest of the association members working in
public and private sectors.
To motivate the cardiovascular, thoracic and vascular surgeons work towards
the social development.
To promote, in co-operation with regional and international agencies,
regional co-operation in utilizing science and technology in the field of medical
science such as WHO, World Heart Federation etc..
To do any other activities to fulfill these objectives.
